Cauliflower and peas is a delicious traditional punjabi dish. This dish is a definite favourite for most punjabi people and is best served with roti or chapati.
Cauliflower and peas.
Serves 4
The Juice of half a lemon
½ teaspoon of Garam Marsala
½ teaspoon of ground cumin
2 tablespoons of fresh, chopped coriander
Salt to taste
100g peas thawed
500g cauliflower cut into florets
½ teaspoon of ground turmeric
1 small green chilli chopped
1 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoons of garlic crushed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Heat the oil in the pan then add the cumin seeds then the garlic, ginger and chilli. Fry the spices for about a min or 2.
Then add the turmeric, cauliflower, peas and salt to the pan and reduce the heat. Then sprinkle water over the top stir and then cover the pan and cook for 10-15 mins.
When the cauliflower is cooked mix in the coriander, ground cumin, Garam Marsala and lemon juice and stir well.
Serve with roti and enjoy.
